The name and location of the mythbackend.log will depend on your
installation and startup method.

Once you've found the log the startup event is easy to spot.  Something like,


2007-11-01 21:07:20.025 New DB connection, total: 1
2007-11-01 21:07:20.481 Connected to database 'mythconverg' at host: localhost
2007-11-01 21:07:20.986 Current Schema Version: 1160
Starting up as the master server.
