My best friend had this problem about 10 years ago; his cats napped atop
his Infinity Reference Standard 0.5 speakers.

Nothing else would keep them off...

so we each got a pair of shooters muffs, and turned the preamp driving
his Carver M400 up to about 5 (when 1.2 was the usual thing)...

and cued up "Star Wars: Main Title".

End of problem, and did you know cats could get 4 feet of air?
