You should try to find out whether your partially working remote is
due to a partially working lirc setup or remote keypresses being
automatically inserted into the keyboard buffer.

It's possible to use at least some of the Nova-T remotes without lirc.
 Remote keypresses go straight into the keyboard input buffer.
Keycodes that don't correspond to a valid keyboard key generate the
errors that you see.

The above thread gives some clues on remapping keys to correspond to
your remote, or running lirc on top of the remote event buffer, to
achieve the same thing.
