I'm pretty sure that it isn't a hardware problem in my case because it
was working fine when I had Fedora 7 and an earlier version of MythTV
0.21+fixes installed.
I will admit that this is the only item on the Prebuffering pause wiki

that I can't 100% eliminate. Not only don't I have another sound card
to try, but the motherboard that I'm using only has two PCI slots, both
of which are occupied.
