HVR-3000 is a pain to make work in my opinion. There is currently
a(nother) huge argument going on on the linux-dvb mailing list about how
to get such devices supported.

I've had my HVR-3000 working for over a year now, but I've always had to
patch, struggle, recompile to make it work. Still no real sign of getting
it working in the mainline kernel.

That said if you look for Darron Broads patches
(http://dev.kewl.org/v4l-dvb/) I've had most success with those. Actually
I've just looked at that page and it looks like they've been merged into
linux-dvb so I'm not sure how much success you'll have with that!

If you want to use DVB-S and DVB-T, I think your best bet is to try and
get the Steven Toth S2-API stuff to work. This seems to be the direction
linux-dvb is going.

If you just want DVB-S then perservere with getting the linux-dvb
repositories to build....

Robert.
