I guess my point had more to do with why the code was written that way to
begin with.  If the ability were there to turn it off from the start,
there'd be no need to enhance the "dead code" that most everyone not running
trunk is using, and we'd be able to use a keyboard or a remote just as
easily. With all that can be configured on a myth system, it seems like a
strange assumption to make that the least likely thing I would intend to
type when I press the "2" key would be the character "2" and have no (clean)
way to change this behavior.   Either way, it sounds like it will be a
non-issue in the unspecified future when .22 is released.
