If you're using fixed ip addresses then there is no need for a DHCP
server...

Unless you have a couple of hundred servers and printers that you want to
keep fixed IP addresses on, and it becomes much easier to statically assign
them via DHCP. Also makes moving them around between subnets much easier,
especially in a vmWare environment.
