If you have a separate MythTV backend and frontend, then you might
consider MiniMyth. I include FFmpeg, MPlayer and Xine with VDPAU support
as well as FFmpeg, MPlayer and Xine with VAAPI support (with a VDPAU
backend). In addition, there are MiniMyth builds with MythTV 0.21 fixes
patched with VDPAU support and MythTV trunk. Also, the included FFmpeg
and MPlayer have multi-threaded support.

Generally, MiniMyth tracks the latest released software patched for
VDPAU and VAAPI as well as the latest FFmpeg and MPlayer SVN versions.
