One other good reason, especially with that number of Homeruns, to
segregate the HDHR's from the rest of your network can be raw
bandwidth. One of my cubemate's is running (3) HDHR's off cable, and
is seeing almost 40Mbit per stream.. 6 HD streams @40Mbit is 240Mbit
of traffic. That's way more than a Single FE can handle, and a good
dent into a GIG-E interface, especially a PCI one (most of which can
only handle about 400Mbit total).

Personally I've gone to bonded GIG-E interfaces into a switch off the
backend, but between NFS, Samba, VMWare, and HDHR's, my backend is
probably a lot busier than most.
