how about a cheap pcix video card (Nvidia 8 series?)
I understand that some have digital audio pass through for the HDMI output
so you can combine your audio into the HDMI out and still use your AV
receiver.
alternatively a brief google found this; I am sure there are other
solutions.

ok, I got intrigued and looked for others as the first one I found with a
price was three-hundred bucks; now there are a few around fifty bucks.
