6200ch is the the firewire change script.

The problem with the IR portion of the HDPVR is due to polling the IR
part of the unit. I thought it made the unit require a reset.

If you didn't compile and load lirc_zilog module than that's not the issue.

What I can suggest is that you determine how and set your STB to only
transmit in 720p and see if this helps. There is talk of the HDPVR
having trouble switching between HD formats. Personally mine switches
from 720 to 1080 and back without any issues so far. It did seem to
hang a little going to and from 480.
