[mythtv-users] Difference between Genre and Category?

Hi

Currently looking at improving the python scripts retrieving data from IMDB...

Depending on how the script is called, it will either fill the
category or the genre.

For example, if you use the "search" option in the mythtvideo manager,
it will fill the "Genres" category

However, when you edit the metadata in the video manager, it only let
you edit the Category...

So what is the difference between categories and genres for mythtv ?

It's a bit inconsistent currently.
