--zero-superblock

If the device contains a valid md superblock, the block is overwritten
with zeros. With --force the block where the superblock  would  be  is
overwritten even if it doesn’t appear to be valid.


Also, I think the more recent raid version superblocks are at the end of
the device,
modulo some alignment, so the superblocks for sdd and sdd1 (assuming
sdd1 is the only partition and spans the whole disk) are in the same
location which can result in operator confusion. Did for me :-)
