Correct, but there are twice as many frames since each field in the source
becomes an entire frame in the output. 1920x1080 at 30 effectively becomes
1920x540 at 60: same number of pixels per second. Every line from the
interlaced source is displayed - nothing is lost.

Of course there are better deinterlacers than bob - it's possible to
interpolate extra lines by analysing the surrounding frames (or even just
smoothing the doubled lines). But those deinterlacers are not showing pixels
that bob is discarding, rather they are producing pixels that aren't
actually in the source (they're only implied by the source).
