Or, just use Freevo ( http://freevo.sourceforge.net/ ) instead of Myth.

AIUI:

Myth = integrated DVR program.

Freevo = stuff that integrates a bunch of separate applications to 
provide some semblance of DVR/HTPC capability.

And, no, MythTV should /not/ become another Freevo.
