Thanks!...I'll check it out.  The thing is that, since I'm just using
OTA DTV, currently  I just have:

cx88-dvb

...in /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 (what Gentoo uses for
auto-loading modules), as that's all I need.  I'm not sure what else I
could change about that.
