I just bought a StreamZap, because it's well-supported, has 
configurations out-of-the-box and wasn't too expensive.  I bought it 
from the US.

I also spotted a bunch of different Windows Media Centre remotes in the 
local stores.  I imagine some of those must be supported.

Powering on the frontend is unlikely, in any unit.  I suppose you could 
rig something up with an IR receiver and the Wake On LAN header on the 
motherboard, but otherwise you're not gonne get that.

Another option could be any of the small wireless keyboards coming out 
these days.  But they have a lower WAF than a remote.
