All my recordings are MPEG2, either from a PVR-500 or HDHomerun. 
According to
this: http://http.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-
x86/180.29/README/appendix-h.html, the G96 only provides partial acceleration
of MPEG2 streams, while a G98 provides full acceleration.
