Agreed. For various reasons I've restructured my backend setup several
times in the two years I've had a HDHomeRun. Currently all four tuners
(six including multirec) are connected to a single frontend/backend,
but perhaps next week I'll go back to two physical tuners on each of
two backends.

The HDHomeRun's unique topological flexibility is very nice, and it's
a real pity the HD-PVR isn't also a network device. In my uneducated
mind, it might have made supporting the latter occur faster, too. The
HDHomeRun seemed to have robust support almost immediately, while the
HD-PVR seemed to take longer (although, by the lack of related commits
lately, I gather support must be pretty darn mature in trunk now).
