Why wouldn't you just use a service like www.NOip.com this way you can
give out a regular address.

Cheers,
Dean

Subject: [mythtv-users] OT: RCN cable opinions?

I've been subscribed to RCN (in the Lehigh Valley) for the last several
years. They're not bad compared to some of the other providers out
there.
They keep a large portion (maybe 60%-70%) of their channels unencrypted
so
you can capture shows with a QAM card or via firewire. They also
maintain
an analog feed for the basic channels (below 100). The biggest gripe I
have with them is that they charge a monthly rental fee for the cable
boxes while the satellite providers basically give away their equipment.
Their cable modem service is decent. I can get up to 20 down/2 up with
them if I so choose. They do block port 80 unless you get a "business
account" but that's not a big deal as you can see by my blog address.
