My original post may be confusing. I want to use the front end for HD
- at least 1080i, hop3efully 1080p.

The (not HD) meant that the video chip in the laptop was not the
4500MHD, but just the 4500M. I'm hoping that the T3400 would be enough
for a front end, even without hw accel in the graphics card.
