This threw me off, too. I build -fixes on a CentOS box that's never
served as a frontend and so never had any nvidia packages installed at
all. I had to install nvidia-graphics180.22-devel and
nvidia-graphics180.22-libs-180.22. Also, your configure script only
looks for vdpau.h in /usr/include/vdpau, while the ATrpms nvidia
package places it in /usr/include/nvidia-graphics-180.22/vdpau. It's
compiling now. (I don't know why I'm bothering yet, given I don't have
a VDPAU-capable card yet, though; that's next!)
