Doug,

I just set Myth to overscan 2% - chops off just enough to remove the
closed-captioning lines.

In Mythfrontend:
Utilities/Settings -> Settings -> TV Settings -> Playback -> General
Playback (2/9)
Vertical Scaling: 2
Horizontal Scaling: 2
