My Gyration air mouse now works!

For anyone interested, it is related to this bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.20/+bug/88746

And disabling USB 2.0 in the system BIOS solves the problem.

I found this by noticing the message that was written in dmesg just after
the mouse quit working.
"reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd"

I googled that message and found the bug report, which had the simple work
around.  This is the only USB device I have so disabling USB 2.0 is no big
deal.
