[mythtv-users] How to record everything all the time ?

Well, I assume that's why you must set max recordings per tuner, In fact 
I cannot see what choice the scheduler has, given that it will never run 
out of Virtual tuners (in my config), it will simply use the next 
available free virtual tuner - and it will always be free - unless I'm 
missing something!

However, I do think I'll run in to problems in other areas - Watch this 
space.
