[mythtv-users] can I use a pace rng 110 cable box?

I have been running Mythtv for a few years with a direct cable into a
Happuage PVR250 but my cable company, Comcast in the Seattle area, has
started eliminating many of the channels I like. So I went to the local
cable outlet and picked up their HD cable box to attach with firewire.

I am running a Gentoo system with Mythtv identified as 0.21_p20877 with
these options enabled: aac alsa altivec autostart debug directv dvb dvd
fftw ieee1394 jack lcd lirc mmx opengl perl python tiff
video_cards_nvidia video_cards_via xvmc

I recompiled Mythtv to include the firewire option, and then I ran
mythtv-setup and configured a new capture card:

Card type: FireWire cable box
GUID: 00509400000BDCA9
Description: Pace RNG110 ASPEN_JEDI_LINUX26Mar062009 11:09:22
Cable box Model: Generic
Connection Type: Point to Point
Seppe: 100Mbps
Signal Timeout 2000
Tuning Timeout 9000

To simplify my setup I deleted my original PVR250 configuration.

When I exit from mythtv-setup I get this error but I don't know what it
means.

Card4 (type MGEG2TS) is set to start on channel Please add,
 	which does not exist.

I could find a starting channel option on my PVR250 setup but not on
the firewire setup. Is this a sign of a problem I need to fix before
I continue?

Trying to continue I ran mythfilldatabase and restarted the backend
but I just realized that my schedule information is not configure
properly becuase the frontend says I haven't scheduled any programs to
be recorded. (what a mess).

When I run the frontend and try to watch live tv I get this message:

2009-07-29 20:17:24.305 TV: Attempting to change from None to WatchingLiveTV
2009-07-29 20:17:24.306 Using protocol version 40
2009-07-29 20:17:24.615 GetEntryAt(-1) failed.
2009-07-29 20:17:24.638 EntryToProgram(0 at Wed Dec 31 16:00:00 1969) failed to get pginfo
2009-07-29 20:17:24.638 TV Error: LiveTV not successfully started

But the system immediately returns to the main mythtv menu.

It is nice to see that this new cable box runs Linux but I wonder if
it will ever be supported of if I have just misconfigured some parts.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,
