My card is KWorld DVB-S 100 (it's usually reported as working, even it's
a budget card). Below is part of dmesg that could give some info:

cx88[0]: subsystem: 17de:08b2, board: KWorld DVB-S 100
[card=39,autodetected]
cx88/2: cx2388x dvb driver version 0.0.6 loaded
cx88/2: registering cx8802 driver, type: dvb access: shared
cx88[0]/2: subsystem: 17de:08b2, board: KWorld DVB-S 100 [card=39]
cx88[0]/2: cx2388x based DVB/ATSC card
DVB: registering new adapter (cx88[0])
DVB: registering frontend 0 (Conexant CX24123/CX24109)...

But now I have some interesting news.

I'm getting problem with kernel 2.6.26-2 (that's the default kernel for
Debian Lenny at present), but... if I run kernel 2.6.18-1, everything
works fine!

More precisely, I get no artifacts, the S/N ratio is much better, and
femon -H shows a good snr too. Also, femon doesn't show the message
"Problem retrieving frontend information: Operation not supported" as it
does with 2.6.26-2.

Unfortunately, I cannot use 2.6.18 without reconfiguring nVidia legacy
drivers for that kernel version, but that's just a matter of time to
waste, I'm sure I will do it.

But there must be something wrong with my card, in the end: I've been
running 2.6.26-2 for several months, and I got the above problems rather
recently, so it cannot be just a matter of kernel/drivers.

Only one more thing: other players show the same problem, too. Mplayer,
xine, totem, they all get stuck or give choppy audio/video, artifacts
etc...

Best regards.
