Replying in this thread to keep things intact.

Starting mythbackend with additional logging may reveal in more detail
the problem MythTV is happening recording. I saw in an older thread
you hadn't yet found this feature.

Restart mythbackend with '-v important,general,record,channel,file'
and try 2 simultaneous scheduled recordings to occupy both tuners.
Again, please post the logfile or post it to http://pastebin.ca.
