Just an update on what other things I tried. Nothing seems to help.
1. In another thread, it was suggested that I turn off the screen
saver. So System-> Preferences-> Screensaver and there I removed the
check by "Activate Screensaver....". I did this on BE and FE and then
rebooted each. I still occasionally would get the delay.
2. In another thread, I read where cpu load would aggravate the
problem. So I caused my BE to record two ATSC channels and one from
my s-video satellite receiver. No help here either. Recording three
channels at a time didn't see to help either. Guess I really should
have run "cpuburn" instead in the BE because I never saw top report over
a 7 % load. Maybe I'll try that next.
3. Somewhere I read that if the Playback in Frontend Setup was changed
to Slim, that would help. Didn't help me.
I think I'll hide the remote controls for a while then I won't hear
noise from the WAF dept.
