neither do I but I will have in a couple of days. Once I have it up
and running I'd be happy to test some of your recordings if you can
put them somewhere accessible.

Yes sorry for taking this off topic, intersted to see what other
responses you get :)

My guess is that you will need version of ffmpeg that has support for
h.264 with paff interlacing and possibly latm-aac sound. Those seem to
be what many media companies are using in the h264 domain (as opposed
to the mpeg2 domain which those in the US seem to get in their HD
streams.)
