If you just want to use the keyboard within mythtv to access the
shortcuts then all you need is lirc and the correctly configured
lircrc and lircd.conf files
(http://www.nexusuk.org/projects/mythtv/lirc/ - links to his files
are in the last paragraph on that page).
However, if you want to use the keyboard part outside of mythtv (i.e.
in a terminal or web browser) then you'll need kbdd
(http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/kbdd). The latter is a
user-space keyboard daemon that can interface with lirc. There isn't a
lot of info out there but I did have this working okish on an older
kernel. Haven't tried it in a while since I was using this with my
minimyth kitchen frontend and I had to repurpose that install to
replace my firewall due to a psu failure.
