It still looks like the same issue -- can you disable "Display live
preview of recordings" in screen 4 of "Setup..TV Settings..Playback"
temporarily?  I'd really be interested to see if viewing *only* an
mpegps (HVR1600 in your case) recording in a mythfrontend run showed
one or multiple "Input #" lines.

Could be, but it may just be masking the real issue (since from the
log above, you're still getting the continuous probing); you may just
see it less often (guaranteed to always be when the wife is watching
something, I've found :-), or it may reappear when you make some other
seemingly-unrelated change.

I checked out and built that version with the patch applied -- do you
have a file matching:
/usr/lib/libmythavformat-0.21.so.0.21.0?  Or /usr/local/lib/<same>?
Or anything close?

If you'd like, I can send you by private email this file with the
patch (it's 693KB); you might be able to drop it in and test it out.
