OK, that sounds do-able.

Now, can I make a sort of "tactical" channels.conf, with JUST the missing channels that non-MythTV utilities were able to detect, and run it over and over? My goal is to not have to re-enter all of the XMLids again.

If this approach would roll over the existing (previously imported) channels, I'll just bite the bullet.
