I honestly have almost no idea what I'm doing with respect to audio...
 I presumably don't have the "new driver" problem since mine is 173.x.
 But the EDID discussion made me wonder if the cheapo Vizio TV was
somehow miscommunicating its audio capabilities with the nvidia 7300
card (or vice versa) resulting in the loss of digital audio from DVD
rips.  I could be wrong.
