The problem is that I don't want to install the frontend on the mythtv backend (hostname 247). It is a minimal server that just runs the backend and mythweb.
> If I just copy and edit a config.xml from one of the frontends, how do I edit it to work with the backend (hostname 274) get it "injected" into the mythconverg database so that it will recognize itself as a client? I think that is what is causing mythrename.pl to fail. I remember it used to work OK...
Notice how I never said, "edit"? Copy.
