Look you say its a generic myth problem, not related to your hardware.

So buy a DVB-T card (they aren't too expensive) put it in your
desktop, emulate your setup, run valgrind.

If your desktop is too precious for that buy a 2nd hand 3GHz or so box
from your local office surplus supplier, it'll be twice as powerful
(or more) than your via box.

Once you have done something constructive to help sort out the problem
you can ebay the card (and the spare computer if you bought one) and
get 50-75% of its/their cost back. Or make yourself feel good and
donate them to a pre-school.

You'll also know whether this really IS a problem, or whether its your
VIA box that is the problem.

Thats the only way you are going to see some action, unless you happen
to find some person who is willing to do all that for you. Given the
reaction you have caused in the more knowledgeable people on this list
that's a doubtful prospect.

Otherwise be quiet (please).
