[mythtv-users] Alternating Slow and Normal SD Video Playback Every Few Seconds

I don't know if this is your problem, but I don't generally use the
"Use video as a timebase" option. I would disable that and see if the
clears things up. I remember I tried that once when I was having some
audio sync issues in mythvideo and things behaved oddly, similar to
how you are describing.
