Subject: Re: [mythtv-users] Minimum cpu required for VDPAU/HD?
I am starting to really get tired of fans and disks humming in every
room of the house. And my power bill would
appreciate a break. We're already high due to having a geosource heat
pump running for heat/cool. The computers
just add insult to injury.
I haven't actually installed LTSP yet, but it looks pretty easy from the
docs. If it works the way I think it will, I can
add a user station for about $175-200 w/lcd monitor. Being able to log
out the kids on a cron job is just a perk...;)

I agree about noisy fans and power conservation.
Are you intending to run mythtv on the clients?
As you are asking about pci, I assume vdpau, I assume you are wishing to.
The thread "Mythbuntu 9.04, Boot On LAN, DHCP c\o pfSense" might help you.
In short you'll be running a fat and not thin client on the clients for vdpau mythtv.
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1305845 might also help, the diskless stuff that was in recent mythbuntus has unfortunately
not all been included in 9.10.
