I saw something similar when I changed my hostname on my system without
following the instruction here:
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Database_Backup_and_Restore#Change_the_hostname_of_a_MythTV_frontend_or_backend

I went back to the old hostname and my tuners returned.  Maybe you did the
same?

Do the tuners still work outside of mythtv?  i.e.  mplayer /dev/video0
