What I've done to make this sort of setup work is to set the genres to match
the directories (I don't find the genres otherwise useful). Then you can
select songs by genre and it all works fine. If you're importing stuff
fairly frequently this might not be practical for you, but if you're
collection is reasonable stable it should work.
