[mythtv-users] HVR-2250 IR blaster: This doesn't look good.

With help from the good folks here I got my HVR-2250 running. 

I thought I'd check /var/log/messages to see if there was a device assigned to the IR portion of the card. I only found this: 

"Nov 21 13:30:45 localhost kernel: tveeprom 3-0000: has radio, has IR receiver, has no IR transmitter" 

Ungh. I guess the current driver doesn't support the transmitter portion. (The basic HVR-2250 card has a jack for a cable that splits into a transmitter and remote reciever.) 

Has anyone successfully accessed the on-board IR blaster? 

(My system has no serial ports, and the inexpensive serial IR Blasters out there don't work with USB to serial adaptors.)
