[mythtv-users] Can someone please help me with understand how progamid is used for duplicate detection?

And no matter how often you change the value in the program listings, it 
will keep being overwritten by new data pushed in by the EIT.

And note that not having a programid is a good thing--compared to having 
bad programid's.  If 2 shows being compared have identical titles and 
programid's, they are considered duplicates--regardless of subtitle 
(episode title), description, and /also/ regardless of the duplicate 
check method chosen for the recording rule.

If either of the 2 shows is lacking a programid, the duplicate check 
method chosen for the recording rule determines how programs are 
determined to be duplicates.
