    Yup. A lot of us view their media players as secondary copies of their
primary Music collection where ever that is. My approach is to take any 
playlists from my management application (iTunes or Rhythmbox) and to snyc
that with the backend.

    I even have a script that does that... pushes Rhythmbox playlists onto
my Archos and into the relevant mythmusic tables.
