I don't know what lineups you have in your area, but for me, I created
two different lineups in schedules direct, one for digital cable, and
one for basic analog cable.  I then only included the channels I get
for the analog, and only the clear QAM channels for the digital
lineup.

Obviously for your HD-PVR, you can record anything from your cable
box, but you can leave those channels in the lineup as a backup for
recording two things at once from the "analog" channels.

If you set up the PVR500 as the first input (or increase the priority
of the recorder), and the HD-PVR as the second, then the analog
recordings will prefer the PVR500.
