I have found that whether a MythArchive disk will play in standalone players
is very dependent on the media I use. I have better luck with the DVD-R disks
and not the DVD+R ones, but I have read that the particular player(s) make(s)
a difference.
Strangely, I have had "no-name" media work fine in just about every player,
while I have had "high-priced name brand" media fail in almost all of them,
it's just hard to predict.
When I get to dual-layer disks it gets even more complicated. It's pretty much
just a crap shoot.
The issue of compatibility of recorded DVDs with standalone players is still
pretty much a dark art and not a science.
