[mythtv-users] Subtitle Support

Hello all

is there a way to make the internal player display embedded subtitles?

so far i have tried:
 * embedded srt in OGM/OGG container
 * embedded srt in MKV container
 * embedded SSA/ASS (Styled Subs) in MKV container
Result: No captions

The srt-file seems to be ok, because extracting (mkvextract) it first
works. Concerning ass-files: i couldnt figure out how to load them even
after extracting. MPlayer shows Styled Sbus correctly and
totem/gstreamer just ignores styling information and shows them
unstyled.

Even if it is not that difficult to write a skript to extract all
subtitles, i just dont feel happy about seperating information that is
meant to be served as a whole. Another issue with extracting is that u
can have only one external subtitle.

To sum it all up:
I would like to know if there is a way to load internal subtitles and a
way to load SSA/ASS (Styled Subs) at all.
