[mythtv-users] recording profiles for analog, displayed on HDTV

I've just replaced my old analog TV with a full HD TV (1920x1080). My
existing mythtv recordings, recorded using a PVR 500, now look
dreadful.

My recording profiles were set up years ago, and gave results that
were good enough for the analog TV. Can anyone recommend a profile
that will look at least OK on the new TV? Or will it always look bad
no matter what I do?
