Have you checked if there's a second audio track in the recording? IOW, during playback choose M -> Select Audio Track. I know when I've tested tuning my clear QAM channels with mplayer, there was one that was silent until I changed audio track. In mplayer, I think it's done with the # key. HTH, Helen
