I understood they would be winding up the power for some muxes,
because there's no more risk of interference to analog signals, but I
haven't heard of plans to reduce power.

I think that the power increase only applies to muxes that were
previously broadcasting at reduced power, so it's unlikely that the
signal would have become too strong.  Might be worth considering
though, if you have an amplifier or powered splitter in your set-up.
Too much signal can be as bad as too little.
