There's already some support for Picture-by-Picture (i.e. 2 4:3 shows 
side-by-side on a 16:9 TV).  It's probably also undergoing a major 
rewrite with some refactoring/OSD changes Mark K. is working on (so 
might actually become more useful--unless too many constraints are 
placed on the work).
